Update on my babies

Well thought I would update you. Im sure some of you remember meeting my kitties here

Well the poor babies have all been sick. Apparently Speckle came home from the shelter with a cold and passed it on to everyone else. They have all been to the vet over the last 10 days and it has been pretty scary for us here and still is!

So the kittens (Speckle and Spock) are recovering nicely still a little congested but they will be fine. Hopefully the antibiotic will help it along.

Lovie has the same virus according to the vet but hers has settled in her eye. She is on antibiotics too plus eyedrops and a dietary suppliment. She too is doing well with the treatment.

Fritzie my poor old boy is not doing so well. He will be 17 in the spring and the Vet tells me his old body is really struggling to fight this off. He first went to the vet on Monday. He came home with meds and a suppliment but he just didn't seem to be getting better. So he went back on Wednesday. After further testing we found out his kidneys are trying to fail too. He stayed at the vet from Wed through Saturday and they were having trouble getting him to eat but the numbers on his kidney problems were better so they sent him home hoping we could get him to eat. He wouldn't eat no matter what we tried and was so weak he couldnt make it to the litter box... so first thing Monday he went back to the vet. We really thought they were going to tell us there was no hope. We cried and cried and spent Sunday evening saying what we thought were our goodbyes to him. The vet said Monday she wasn't giving up yet. We told her we do not want him to suffer. He has lived a nice long life with pretty much no health problems and we just didn't want his end to be so bad. She seemed to think a change in meds and more IV's for his kidneys would turn him around. We agreed..how could we not try everything? Things are still not going well at this point so I really need some prayers and good thought sent this way. I don't know how long we should wait but I guess if she thinks there is still hope we will have faith.

We just lost our Jinxie (fritzie's littermate) the week before Thanksgiving, he had a heart condition that we treated for over 8 years, so as sad as losing him was it was no real suprise. My DH is convinced Fritzie's heart is broken with the loss of his brother and he is just giving up. I hope that is not the case but it certainly could be true..

Our only Christmas wish this year is that our Fritzie recovers and comes home to those of us who love him. Please send my old boy your prayers and help us through this.
