CLOSED: Wanted: French Marigold seed

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

Would like to trade for some French Marigold seed (Targetes patula), sometimes called Dwarf Tiger Eye Marigold. If you have seed to trade, let me know and maybe we can work out a trade.

Hi,
I have some. What do you have to trade?

Have 5 colors of 4 O'Clock, including the Dappled Pink (bicolor) imported from Japan. Several varieties of morning glory, zebrina, Mexican Hat, Orange Cosmos and others. Give me some idea what you need.

I have most of the seeds you do except some of the 4 o'clocks but they tend to get invasive here. Would you like to just send postage (.49) for some?

budgielover, you are very generous to offer the French Marigold seed for postage. Sorry I don't have anything you need right now. You are right, the 4's do tend to take over beds if we let them.

I will be happy to send you postage for the seeds. If you will D-mail me re: address, envelope, etc, I will get something in the mail to you. Thanks, Txwillie

No problem,
I have other marigolds I can throw in if you'd like to try some. Do you have cassia alata or red castor beans. I have plenty extra of those too. They should do well in your area.
My address is in the address exchange.

Jan. I have your address and will get bubble envelope, postage and mailing label in the mail right after Christmas. I would appreciate any of the Marigolds as they tend to do well in this area. I have the Red Castor Bean, but do not have the Cassia alata. Don't know if the C. alata would survive the cold winters, but might do OK in containers. Also have the Yellow Bird of Paradise seed (Desert variety) if you can use that. LMK. Thanks, Perry L. Williams aka Txwillie

Hi Perry,
I would like to try it. I know the cassia will die back it hit with frost but it comes back.
Not sure if it can sustain long cold weather or not. It would do well in a large pot. I would start it indoors to get a head start.
