She is still my pride and joy even though she's been gone for about 6 yrs now. DH got her for me in 1990 when she was just few wks old. I was a grown woman can you believe it? My bro and I had dogs as kids but they were always "his". I never had one to call my very own. When DH handed her to me he said: "Here's your dog. You've got a dog now". I will never forget that and it still chokes me up to remember it. She was just a backyard-bred dobie and soo far short of the breed standard, but she was a truly gorgeous dog. She had the slickest, shiniest coat of any dog I have ever seen. I can still smell her. We kept cedar shavings in her doghouse and that's what she smelled like- cedar and sweet dobie girl. I miss her so.
