DH drove my DD through a snowstorm to look at two Golden Retriever pups that were for sale.
One she was told had a significant scar over it's eye and scars on it's belly, the other had no injuries. They were sisters.
When they got to the home where the pups were they saw them as soon as they pulled into the driveway in an outside pen with no food, water or shelter.
Inside the home was a 5 yr old Rottweiller which the people had recently purchased.
When the lady let the pups inside so DD could look at them it was apparent why she was selling them.
The Rotty would not let them near the food and growled at them.
My DD had already made up her mind to take the pup with the scars as she knew it would have a harder time finding a good home and the pup immediately took to her showering her face with kisses.
She paid for the pup and was getting ready to leave with her new furbaby but DH was still petting the other pup and the pup had ahold of his wrist and was looking at him with sad eyes.
To make a long story short they pooled every penny they had and DH bought the other pup.
He said he just could'nt take it's sister away and leave it alone in that outside pen.
They stopped at DD's house and put bows and a Christmas tag on my new GR.
When DH got home he walked in the door with the pup and put it in my arms.
It was the best Christmas present I ever got.
Emma has turned from a scared pup into a loving friend. She loves Mitzi my 13 yr old poodle and Max my American Eskimo and they are all spoiled rotten.
Here's a picture of her the day she came home.
