Postage Going Up

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

on January 8. The new rate will be 39 cents...which of course means that ALL of trading $$$ will need to be recalculated! NUTS! Just when I got so I could do it in my sleep!

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

We can still use 2 of the old 37 cent stamps on the small bubble mailers huh? Or am I engaging in "fuzzy math" again? LOL

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm sure that will still be plenty. Since standard postage just went up 2 cents, I can't imagine the rest will be too much higher. It's just a pain to have to refigure. I know a slightly larger envelope goes for 49 cents, then the jumps is to 60, then 83. Now they're going to make me refigure. Bad post office! LOL

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

yes, I saw that. :~(
I have a new digital scale and the top flips up with a chart that tells me the cost. It ticked me off that it was not going to be any good anymore, so I went to the site that makes my scale to see if they were going to make a new chart available and sure enough, they are! If anyone wants to download and print it out, here is the link:

(the word HERE in the sentence on their page is the link to the file. In case there is anyone else that had a hard time with that. Sheesh, I HOPE I was not the only one...LOL)

Thanks...that will be very helpful!

Great chart - thanks, I printed it.

Excellent - I couldn't get the other one to download, so maybe I'll have better luck with this one.

Thanks!

Well, I guess my 50 cent stamps will still get a regular envelope with bubblewrap through the mail. Just bought stamps, so I suppose I'd better get some 2 centers soon.

On the news they said they were printing "a record number" of 2 cent stamps, so we should be all set!

Do any of you remember the movie 'Fargo'? There was a scene in which Marge's husband's duck was chosen for one of the lesser stamps... 2 cents or 3 cents. Marge consoled him by saying 'Gee, that's great! When the postage goes up, people buy lots of the little stamps!"

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Even the flat rate is going to 8.10 now.. they are going to make this hard on us to figure out. Just wait until the auction prices goes up to match - I mean triples the new amount to account for the new price!
