Who ever can prove the lowest temperature during the next 24-1/2 hours wins a pair of wonder gloves. (picture of themometer, website showing temp in their town, etc would be considered proof.) Closes at 9 PM Thursday - Pacific time. Sorry, USA only for this one.
They won't keep your hands warm but they're great for gardening once the sun decides to shine on your part of the country again.
Mary
CLOSED! 9:25 pm THURSDAY.

I'm FREEZING contest
mary, janice was just saying that cold is RELATIVE. the low's tonight, 39F and i'm FREEZING. so cold, i had to wear socks.
=)))
I have socks on myself, Annapet ..... but we're still not going to get any sympathy being California girls. LOL
Well LOL does that count ? hahaha it is 8 degrees here and I am not going out into the backyard to take a picture of my thermometer so I had this brilliant idea just to copy and paste our weather today.WOW we suppose to climb up to 13 degrees :-)) ...maybe just maybe up to 26 degrees ?

Well it was 10 below at 5:30 this morning, it has now warmed to -2 (8:28am)now that's a reason to party.
I am in no way bragging! I am actually crying big, fat , I hate the cold tears.
I gathered eggs this morning (6am) and they already had ice crystals in the whites!
Better give those gloves to the poor freezing souls in CA!!! LOL
Stay warm everyone, All you New Englanders are you ready for the freezing rain coming our way???
All you New England and Canadian friends put on extra clothes and a few more logs on the fire. Stay warm if possible. I can only shiver when I even think of weather that cold.
Annapet, I totally agree. "Cold" is a subjective issue. It's 40° here, but it's raining and the wind is blowing and I'm freezing my tucas off! Not to mention my fingers and toes and nose.. and all parts in between! Sheesh.. do you think they have high speed internet in the Sahara?? I might move there...
Barb
this is our forcast for today.
Today
Widespread fog in the morning. Snow and rain in the morning...then snow likely in the afternoon. Snow accumulation of 1 to 4 inches. Highs in the mid teenss. Southwest winds up to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.
Thanks I am originally from Missouri the winters were much kinder, but I grew up in Iowa (so I shouldn't be a big baby about all of this).
I have to force myself to go out everyday (actually I have outside chores goats, chickens to feed) but just to go out and be out . And play with the dog of course he thinks a foot of snow is fun to run through, crazy dog...
Well it is 40 here in Nashville. I am shivering just reading how cold it is where you are. Berrrrrr.
Betty
I'm not ever going to complain about being cold again! You guys have just explained to me what cold really is! LOL.
Stay warm,
Barbara
We have beautiful summers that is the only thing that keeps me going
The same here in Maine ..as our license plate reads "VACATIONLAND " :-)
I agree, cold is subjective. It was 48 here this morning and I'm freezing! Thank goodness the sun is out and the wind is not blowing. We have the heat on at the office.
janice, i love - - -
"Baby, it's cold outside" California style. I am serious, we are COLD here. Gotta put on socks and long sleeves. Torture, I tell you. Did I mention SHOES!!!?
socks, long sleeves, but still wearing SHORTS. lol.
was 33F at 8AM when i walked my dogs. brugs look ok.
LOLOL @ Frog!! When it's 50 degrees that's when we get our shorts and short sleeve shirts out.
Chicory we are pretty much always ready for winter storms up here. I start stocking the freezer and cupboards in October but the plows work hard and there really hasn't been a time that we haven't been able to get to the store within a day or two.
Schools stay open unless we get a big storm or the roads are covered in ice.
Moonglow, when I took my doggie out to walk and he came back inside he had to have his blanket! He kept giving me pitiful looks when I was getting ready to leave, he wanted to stay inside today.
lol, 10a pets! sometimes my dogs give me an "i can hold my pee look."
guess we're not winning this contest.
Ya think!!!!
Well we don't have it nearly as bad as you all up there in Maine and NH and Vermont. I know about the stocking up thing, mostly because I don't drive much when there is snow on the roads.
Our schools stay open until there is Ice also which we are getting tonight around 3am into the afternoon tomorrow BLAH (turning to rain on top of 12" of snow).
It has warmed up to 20, I think I am going to take my sweater off and put shorts on hahaha you people from the big CA make me laugh.
I saw a guy at the Sear's store where I work with shorts on that was 2 days ago! Apparently he has frost bitten his mind...
I thought it was cold here (24) last night till i talked to my uncle who lives in West Yellowstone, MT. It was -26 there last week, that is below zero, not below freezing!
So i am enjoying the balmy 35 we are having today.
69 here and the socks have been abandoned. A day without flip flops is like a day without.................
The bad news is that I am going to have to water again. Sigh. Gotta keep the plants and froggies happy.
Oh my gosh... what a hoot! Poor widdle puppy... LOL! I love that picture.
Barb
Poor Puppy! I can tell you abuse him. LOL That's so cute! In spite of this horrible chilling episode, he can't win because he has 4 paws and I only bought one pair of gloves.

Cala,
That is wa-a-a-y too funny. Bleu is precious! I miss my chocolate I had for 14 1/2 years. He looks like I feel when I came home from Christmas shopping (minus the cocktail!)
Barbara
LOL Poor Bleu.
Sorry I'm late getting back. Was wrapping presents.
The winner is Snowhermit, who showed proof of minus ten degrees on a thermometer at 9:55 PM last night. I'll be sending your "wonder gloves" by US Mail. No way would I hand deliver them in that weather. LOL I'm shivering just thinking of the poor mailman that's going to deliver them. Terry, I hope you don't have to spend the rest of the winter living up to your nickname. At least it's warm in the greenhouse.
Mary
Congratulations, Snowhermit! I think!!?? I am amazed that my 50 degrees did not hold up lol.
Terry,
Congrats :-)) has your storm come in yet ? we are still waiting for today, snow and lots of ice.
