Hi, new guy here. I thought you might like it if I introduced myself with a few pictures of my epi's & relatives. Great forum, I've really been enjoying the reading.

Hello
Hi Tom and welcome to Dave's! Those are some beautiful pictures that you posted! That one with the hanging/trailing flowers is really cool:-)
Thanks Clare.
I do have some rooted cuttings of that to trade for other epi's if anyone is interested.
Hi, Tom!
Beautiful stuff you are growing!! I agree, the second one is especially interesting with its pendulous flowers.
Ursula
DITTO, Tom - beautiful pictures and WELCOME!!
Hi, grrrnthumb, I am new also, about a month. I would really like a cutting from the red epi. I have some kind of orchid cactus that came from my 90 yr. aunt, the flowers only bloom at night, and are a white to salmon color, I do not have a clue what the name is. It also starts blooming around Sept. My DH took some pictures, maybe he can send you the shot, and you could tell me what it is. This plant will grow completely over you, just stick a cutting in dirt and get out of the way. Thanks, Krispi
Krispi, sent you an email.
Hi Tom!
Welcome, Beautiful Flowers. I also love the second one.
Gorgeous Tom! Ü
What beautiful blooms.
Welcome!
Welcome, Tom. Luv your epi and especially the easter cactus.
:) Donna
grrrnthumb, I got your email, and sent you a d-mail, plus I e-mailed you the 3 pictures of my orchid cactus. You did not get any of it? I may need to do it over again, I am new at this computer stuff, let me know if you get this message. So I will know for sure what to do. Krispi
Hi Krispi,
Yes I rec'd your Dmail today. Did not get the Email with pictures though, don't know what happened there. I'll send your plants out on Monday.
- Tom
Hi grrrnthumb, man I am glad you got something, maybe I don't understand how to send the pictures, Do I send them in an email, to your email address, or what. I have sent them twice. Let me know, and thanks about the plant. How much do I owe you for the plant? Krispi
grrrnthumb
You plants are beautiful and blooms are so pretty , These are under shade all the years?
Kaleem
Krispi you don't owe me anything for the plant. I sent you a Dmail.
Kaleem, thank you. It's good to meet you. The plants are underneath a high deck on the back of my house facing west. They got direct sun all year after about 4 o'clock (our Northern climate gets less sun then many areas). It was enough to give them a little pink on the edges but not burn them. It took me a couple years of raising them up or down until I found just the right spot where they wouldn't get too much sun. I used their leaf color as a guide. Artificial lights near a window in the basement from mid-November to late April, which is when we have frosts or freezing possible.
Hi grrrnthumb, I got your D-mail, thanks, I am going to give it another run, I am going to learn how to do it, yet! Thanks, Krispi
Hmmmm...I came here out of curiosity as I had no idea about what orchid cactus were.I fell in love instantly!
What beautiful plants they are!!!
i think i will start collecting now!
grrrnthumb, did you ever send me the cutting of that beautiful Epi? If you did, I never got it. Let me know. Thanks Krispi
Hello grrrnthumb, if you ever have cuttings of the Pink Easter Cactus in picture 4 above, I would LOVE some. I have the Red one if that interests you. I also have some sort of un-named orchid cactus if you are interestested. I have bee looking for a pink Easter Cactus for a long time. IF you happen to have a rooted one that would be PERFECT as I have the hardest time rooting things. I also have a small pot of Rhipsalidopsis Rosea which is the miniature Pink Easter Cactus but it doesn't seem to like Maine at all. I'm assuming by the picture that your jpink is the large leafed one? Those are alot less picky than the miniature which I've been able to keep alive but it's not doing well. I would greatly appreciate it.
Kim
Welcome to DG Tom!!!
Awsome cactus!! It's gorgeous!
Steve
Thanks for the welcome Steve.
Yes Kim, it is different than rosea. Mine is Rhipsalidopsis gaertneri, also called Hatiora gaertneri.
I'm not looking for anymore of the standard unnamed epis that are usually white oxypetalum, but if you Dmail me with any other plants you have to trade I'll bet we can work something out.
Krispi there is a package coming your way this week, & it's got a little extra suprise in it. : )

Thank you so much, Tom!! I could use a little surprise and will be so happy to get your package. That Eppi. that I hope you are sending, is to kill for! Did you get your Red Poppies planted? Thanks again! Krispi
Tom,
Love the pic of your Pink rhipsalidopsis!! Is that considered the same as an Easter Cactus? I've just recently got into these beautiful orchid cactus' I have about 6 cuttings I purchased rooting at home...can't wait till I get blooms!!!!
Chantell
Hi Chantell,
Yes that one is commonly called the Easter or Spring cactus.
Krispi the main package inside your box I forgot to label, but it's the same Lg pendant red epi picured up above. The other (suprise) package is labeled.
And no, I've been bad; still haven't planted those poppies yet.
Tom,I haven't hear anything from you-do you still want to trade??
Your plant is here waiting to be mailed. Please let me know something. Thanks.
