Yippee! No freeze yet!
December 12th brugs!
congratulations! thanks for sharing these photos. please keep them coming. it's great to see brug blooms in december!
nice pictures of a beautiful brug, but what are we looking at? Is it an unnamed one?
That is wonderful to still have blooms in Dec. Joan
xeriscape, I wish I was positive about name, but I'm such a newbie that I'm not sure......I think it's a Charles Grimaldi. Usually more orangey in the warmer weather. This is a cutting I brought to FL when I moved here in May. Back then I wasn't paying much attention to names. Glad I do now.

barbara, blooms this time of year sure bring quite a thrill! i hope we can keep on posting photos on a daily basis thru the winter months!
do you keep your brugs out year-round? this is my first winter with brugs and i should be able to keep them out...
Yes, when I was in NC (right on the SC/NC line on the coast) I kept this guy in the ground and it died back the first winter. Then the 2nd winter I took a cutting and rooted it. That's the cutting that moved to the FL Panhandle with me this May.
I know we get freezes here (zone 8B) and it will die back. This year I've got a number of cuttings that DGers have graciously sent me that are rooting inside and I'll put in the ground in the spring.
I have a small one (I think it's a Maya and I think it's supposed to be white -- do those 2 specs go together?) that just wouldn't grow and wouldn't grow all summer even in the shade. Now, with the cooler weather it has gotten growth (probably 2 1/2 ft tall) to it so I'm bringing it in since it's in a pot and I'll decide in the spring weather to leave it in the pot or plant it. It's variegated.
Some of the pros will probably post info for you about you're zone. I'm thinking you can leave yours in the ground all year.
