Hello ya'll,
i was just wondering, for any of you Zebra Plant growers out there, if there are any suggestions you might have for me. I bought my zebra and put it in a pot with no drainage holes. it started to lose leaves from day 1. I keep it on the kitchen counter, inside where it gets plenty of artificial lighting and a little bit of natural light. now, all the leaves are gone, and the tips of the stem are beginning to wilt. I don't know if i should give up on it or hold on to it. Does the pot need drain holes? Does it need more natural light? I don't know where it went wrong. Please help. I apologize for no pictures.

Not having luck with Zebra Plants
By Zebra Plant I'm guessing you mean Aphelandra squarrosa.
All plants but aquatics have to have drainage holes.
Get it out into a well draining pot.
You probably should change the soil.
It may well be soured.
The light seems about right for it.
It's will be hard to tell until the drainage problem is fixed.
It takes regular watering and light shade.
Here's the PF for it.

I also keep mine in a small pot (6") with no drainage hole. But then I also forget to water it. I water mine about every 10 - 15 days or longer when I really really forget. (if it isnt in the ground, I am bad bad bad about keeping up with pots) When I do water it, I will put in about 1/2 the pot filled with water. It seems to get absorbed quickly enough and doesnt drown. I have heard of a trick where you mix a teaspoon or so of Hydrogen Peroxide in a quart of water and use that. It is supposed to cling to the roots and provide it with some oxygen to help it not drown. I say, at this point, it cant really get much worse...
Good Luck!
