Tennessee DGer Needs A Favor

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

I need a couple of tubes of Preparation H Ointment, if the active ingredients are Yeast Cell Extract 1% w/w and Shark Liver Oil 3% w/w.

The formula was changed here in the USA because women used it as a skin cream around their eyes. I have an 12 year old rescue bully who has a rectum problem that I'm hoping it will resolve. I don't want him to have to go through an operation since due to his age it is high risk.

If you would be willing to mail this to me, just let me know $ for the product and postage and I will send it right away. If you have PayPal I can transfer the funds.

A return favor would certainly be in order also. I make a good Southern BBQ Dry Rub!!!

Judy
I hope you enjoy this picture of my "babies".

Judy we are going to Shoppers Drug Mart right away. I'll let you know if we found it there.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

a 50g tube is $15.49 CDN......that is for the cream

a 50g tube is $12.99 CDN.........that is for ointment.

Which one should I pick up (if someone here hasn't already)?

(edited to say both contain the above ingredients)

"a 50g tube is $12.99 CDN.........that is for ointment"

Two of this would be wonderful... you so so sweet to do this for me.

Do you have PayPal? I can transfer the money for these immediately and when you find out about the postage I can make another transfer.

Judy

Judy those babies are wonderful. Sure hope the ointment helps. Does one of them have a fissure?

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

No it's for an old rescue Bully. He's about 12 now, life expectancy for a Bully is 9-10 years but he's still got plenty of spunk left in him, cuddles with one of the old female rescues for hours at a time. I took in 10 at one time from the same woman and if I hadn't taken them they would be in an awful situation as she is in her late 70's now and has many health issues which prevent her caring for them properly. 6 of the 9 have died peacefully in their sleep. Bubba was the youngest. She asked that I take them so she could come here and see her "gang". In exchange until she started to slip mentally, she was a great asset to me. She taught me how to assist the vet in delivering puppies, if it was an emergency c-section and he didn't have help, etc. I learned a lot an although at times I regreted the responsibility. The 3rd one still living has an attitude .. she's a pit/bully mix who doesn't like other animals, but loves people.

If I can get this problem fixed he will feel much better and can go back to eating regular food. I'll try to take pictures of him tomorrow, Bubba is a big ole boy, solid white and a ladies man.

Maybe we should wait a day or two in case another Canadian DG'er has paypal and can pick it up for you (it would have to be a money order to me). I'll keep a watch on this thread and if no one else comes forward I'll pick some up at the end of the week.

Saskatchewan has a provincial sales tax of 7% and the federal tax (GST) is also 7% (that would be added to the above).

edited to say I'll also check Superstore's prices (they may be cheaper).

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Is there anyone in Alberta who could find it? Would save the provincial tax. here is Ontario you'd be looking at 8% provincial tax.

Ann

I've got PayPal, but don't get to the stores that often. If I am going in, I'll check before I leave, to see if you got it yet Pam.
........good for wrinkles, eh.......

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Bubba has plenty of wrinkles. lol lol

Some USA women used it to reduce puffy skin around the eyes. So that would mean the eyelids I would think. Seems if the tissue was puffy the wrinkles wouldn't show as badly. lol

If it helped with wrinkles I would need a wash pot full, for me not the Bullies. lol lol

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Oh I was at London Drugs this morning but I had forgotten to write down the info about the Prep H Judy wanted. I should be able to check at acouple of places tomorrow.
If I find some I will buy it for you Judy but you would have to send me a money order or bank draft in Cdn dollars. I'll let you know ASAP what I find.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Just to give you an idea ... these are my Saturday entries to my personal Journal

Saturday - 12/10/05 10:30 AM
This has been one crazy morning. Just as we were trying to make ourselves get out of the warm bed at 5:15, the electricity went off. I placed a service call to the nicest lady who informed me that a house fire had caused the power company to shut down electricity in our area. Additional manpower was on the way to assist and it shouldn't be too long before it was restored. Trying to work by candle light, heating day old coffee in a pan on the gas stove while rushing to get 'our gang' in and out of the house to potty but unable to see if their bedding needed to be changed or not, is so disorienting. Then the puppies started squealing for food and were getting cold.

We worked as best we could holding the puppies under our sweatshirts until around 9 AM, when the electricity came back on. Thank You, Thank You. Electric power employees surely have my respect.

I believe I lost all the plants on the porch because it was 19 degrees outside and the porch temperature dropped very fast when the electricity went off and little did I know a panel had popped loose. The leaves are all curled and wilted looking. BUT plants can be replaced, puppies can't. Humans have to learn to roll with the punches or have a heart attack. I'm not having a heart attack over plants, although it does make me sad, especially after all the work we did to get them ready for winter.

Saturday - 12/10/05 7:30 PM
This day refused to let go of us.... after Bob got back from Buck Snort, TN he walked Reba, expecting Bulldog. Oh no, she upchucked all the food I had gotten her to eat this morning (chicken, scrambled eggs, canned puppy food) to prove she wasn't going to go into labor while Bob was gone. Upchucking is the same as not eating when you're talking about signs that a Bully is going into labor. Reba, WAIT!! She started panting so we hurriedly took her temperature and it was 100.1, going down from this morning so it is SHOW TIME. Bless Doctor Frank when I called and said, we've got one going into labor, he said what time. We quickly loaded the van with supplies and I grabbed corn dogs from the freezer, because we hadn't eaten.

We meet him at 4:30 and about 30 minutes later had 6 beautiful puppies. A friend of his was there with his little girl and Dr Frank's 5 year old son. They watched the first part of the operation, then I allowed them to "help me" revive the puppies. Afterward when all the babies were crying, I let them sit in a chair and hold one. I much rather trust a kid than an adult with a newborn puppy. Kids know to be careful, some adults you can't tell anything. Afterward I nuked the corn dogs for the kids, smeared one with mustard and one with catsup. Just before they started to devour them, I let them hold a puppy while Dr Frank took pictures with his cell phone camera

On the way home there was a roadblock, by the Middleton, TN police and we were informed that the Christmas parade was about to start... there was no way around the Hwy. We showed him
the newly born pups and told him we needed to get home ASAP, so at the end of the parade behind the John Deere Tractors, horses, donkeys and police cars we followed, waving to all the
onlookers just like we had planned our adventure. It took an hour for the parade doings to end and us to get home.

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse at my crazy life... We've gone to the dogs...

Judy

You do lead an interesting life. Probably be so bored if a normal day came along. We await some pics of these new babies. Sorry about your plants, doesn't sound too good.

But what about the Prep H?

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Superstore's prices are cheaper.......

a 50g tube is $13.49 CDN......that is for the cream

a 50g tube is $ 10.49 CDN.........that is for ointment.

I may be off in the change range....I lost the paper I wrote it down on

edited to say I can see you've been kept on your toes Judy........sending wishes that the rest of the month contains just the *normal* insanity for you and yours.
