I just bought this lovely plant. Todd, or anyone else, do you have any growing tips that you'd care to pass along? In all honesty, its the very first honeysuckle I've ever had and there's not much on the tag aside from how to plant it properly. Do you think that it would it benefit from staying in its current pot this year (square and about 5"), and plant it in the late summer?

Thanks in advance!

Beautiful! I wonder if it is a climber or perhaps a bush. I have run myself ragged trying to find one as beautiful as this in a bush format, but all I find are climbers. Does anyone know of a bush honeysuckle with maybe flowers this colour or even red, that is a bush and not a climber? Perhaps even an evergreen and hardy one? I would appreciate any help on this one. Many thanks. Walt.

Mind didn't grow an inch this year - I did pot it up though, perhaps it didn't like it. So I can't tell you anything about its growing habits at all. A friend saw it and asked me if I had any luck growing it, so I'm assuming its a bit of a chore. I don't know though, as I've never had one before. If anyone cares to chime in, it would be helpful.

Thanks.

Our plant is two years old and has produced some lovely rich orange blooms, but no sign of any red in them. Any clues why not ?

Mine has buds that growing longer every day - kind of funny looking buds, long and shaped like small fingers holding a baseball. The leaves have red in them, and its growing, but not too much. But, it really isn't even technically summer yet so perhaps the rest of the season will tell us more. I love vining plants, and perhaps I shouldn't be comparing it to a clematis; perhaps a slow growing hoya is more comparable to this plant. I suspect the flowers have red in them when the plant is more mature. I still can't find any info on its care, or pruning, if any.
