At which point can I pick the pods?
When they are all brown?
When they are turning brown?
When they are green and bulging?
The longer I leave them up....the more chance for a number of days of rain and the rotting.

Picking seed pods
I have picked them when they are starting to get soft and mush in spots. I've also picked some versicolor pods when they were still green, but felt lumpy. Some have been almost dried up. When in doubt, cut a slit in the pod and check the seeds for color. If they aren't ready, seal the pod back up with tape or glue so nothing can get inside of it.
