a dog is coming!

Our friend is moving back here from Reno and until she gets her own place where she can have her pup child, we will be keeping her Lozen, a wolf-hybrid.
She is very shy and submissive and is used to kitties (bored by them)... she's used to sleeping in bed with her owner but we can't do that, allergies... our cat style fur children sleep in the basement (they have almost a whole house to themselves down there) but they have never been around dogs except for Molly who made friends with a 20 lb dog when she was kenneled while we were on vacation.

So...

I'm asking for ideas and suggestions on how to get this dog acclimated to our household (we have a fenced in yard and a hot tub porch that is warmer than outside and could be made cozy)... and our kitties... and our very different lifestyle.

We will probably have her at least a couple of months as her Mommy is partially disabled and may have a hard time finding a job.
