It is supposed to be 48 tonight with possible gale force winds! Tomorrow night it is supposed to be 39-40........brrrrrrrr my poor plants are gonna shiver! I brought in my alocasia Purple Prince and African Mask.
Oh my, we're gonna be COLD
It is 21 here now in DFW and supposed to hit a low of 18 tonight and 11 tomorrow night! But I guess it is all relative :-)
18 is the lowest here... and yikes soooo many plants that hate the cold weather are not going to like this.
It is 28 here and we are trying to see if my propane heater is going to keep the greenhouse above freezing.
I hate this. Freezing rain here. Hope I didn't kill anything.
It is 15 right now here in FT Worth!
My backyard is awash in downed fig leaves. Looks terribly messy, but I'm not planning to do any raking today! Yuska
It is terribly cold here in Arlington too, and the roads are very dangerous with ice.
I think I will stay home and decorate the tree and drink hot coffee.
It was 36 this morning with hard winds. It has not warmed up at all so far. We are in the office shivering and I have to go inspect 3 houses! I'm gonna freeze!
We had a low of 17ºF last night. It was a wet cold night. AND we got the tail end of the sleet. The stuff hasn't melted yet. The high today is 27-1/2ºF. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
I was going out to check on the cows, but my Jeep wouldn't start and 2 of my Gator tires are flat. We have mesquite and I seem to pick up lots of thorns. So I'll stay indoors. This hot chocolate tastes soooooo good!!!
We hit a super warm hi of 41 degrees and it's still drizzling rain.
Veronica, I know what you mean about the mesquite. I've flattened the lawn mower tires so much DH won't even let me drive it anymore! I had a nail in my car tire this morning. Fortunately a can of fix-a-flat held it till I got to the repair shop. The repair guy didn't complain too much about the gooey mess. I told him before he took the tire off that I had to use the FAF.
What a precious photo. It made my day. I like the sweatshirt idea. I think Bleu could use one of those.
LOL Nery! I love that! My cats are always waiting to dash outside when I get home. They really thought hard about it today, and came back in quickly!
Mike tried to drive to his parent's in NM yesterday so he could be there for his dad's follow-up appt with the oncologist. He was slipping and sliding - along with everyone else in Ft Worth - and then got stopped just before Weatherford because of a massive pileup. He turned around and went back home (Huntsville), after first getting 500 lbs of sand for the back of his truck!
It is super cold here too! I don't think it ever warmed higher than 37 all day. My mom (Dovey) is in town and she spoiled me with all kinds of pretty flowers and roses and now we are in a rush to get them in the ground and protected! It was hot and muggy when she got here. I don't think she is impressed with the temperment of our South Texas weather.
This picture is from yesterday before it got too terribly cold. My daughter planting her Sunshine rose with Nana.

Oh my! I wish she could have experienced some pretty weather! It was very beautiful when Don and Pam were here in November.
I think Bleu needs ear muffs. After going outside he wants someone to warm up his ears(he has big floppy ears)
We have finally warmed up to 39 deg. but it still feels very cold. It's still cloudy but the icicles are slowly melting. We dropped to below 20 deg. for two nights. That's really the 'big chill' for us.
cold, cold go away .....and don't ever come back period!
Man I hate this stuff. I have to go in and out ALOT at work and now (after the last 2 days) I am feeling very poorly.
Yuck, Yuck, Yuck!
4xthe fun--It must be a girl thing...I can't get my 17 year old girl to EVER put her shoes on before going out--no matter how cold!
Hey dmj, thought it was just my girl. It drives me mad! Even when I do get shoes on her it only lasts until I turn my back. And when it is super cold, still no shoes. She will try to sneak out in just socks and then all those pretty little socks come back stained and holey.
