chianti lily

does anybody grow this successfully in z9a? (pref. texas area) how about other varieties? thanks for your input

Vossner; do you mean a Zantedeschia 'Chianti?' if so, it should grow just fine where you are. It is one of the near-black or chocolates. I've never personally grown it.

Oh, you probably meant Lily-lily, as in Oriental Lily. Well, I'm no Help! good luck!

Hi Vossner,

Chianti is an Asiatic lily and Asiatics are the most adaptable climactically of the lilies (lilium). Should be OK to grow in your area. I have many Chiantis in my back yard and they do very well here in DFW. I have one clump in its 4th year, and they flower better and better each year. Probably my favorite Asiaitc, mine bloom in early June (late for an Asiatic in this area). Good luck!
