Modine Propane Heater

Anyone own a Modine ? Do you have problems with your unit? We have a 30,000 BTU Modine Hot Dawg Propane heater for our greenhouse and have had a number of problems with it.

This past weekend, the unit failed again. The controller was first stating "flame signal out of sequence". Now the controller states "system lockout". Needless to say, the Hot Dawg doesn't work. Our manuals do not give sufficient information to diagnose the problem. We had to wire-up and then switch over to a 4,000Watt electric heater yesterday afternoon or suffer the loss of the greenhouse contents.

Would love to hear from others with Modines -- pro and/or con !

I've got a Hot Dawg 45,000 BTU Modine. This is the 3rd winter using it and so far there have been no problems. It works very very hard up here to heat a GH with subzero temps most of the winter.
Can you contact the company where you bought it. Usually they have a service person that will help walk you through the problem.
How old is your heater? Is it still under guarantee?

The heater was purchased 'new', is less than a year old, but not under warranty. Funny how it works that way.....

We will be contacting Modine, yes, but in the interim, we had to replace it due to our cold weather.
