Can anyone suggest a passiflora for zone 5a? Should they be treated as an annual here? I have never seen one growing in this area. If starting them from seed are there any special requirements? I have soil ph 6.5, sandy loam, full sun with a strudy trellis and an irrigation system.

With heavy winter mulch, Passiflora incarnata will be a perennial in your zone - remember, it's lovely but invasive - I mean REALLY invasive!
