Very nice...luv the leaves

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

It would be one of my favorites, for sure! I have 'Alliance', which is fairly similar, and I was so excited to see its first bloom recently. :-)

Denver, CO

Lovely photograph, PlantMom.
I still have not decided myself which plant I like better(from internet pictures): 'Alliance' or 'Funambule'...
The finer and serrated variegation of 'Alliance's leaves is a plus. But perhaps more variegation is better. Or perhaps one should have them side-by-side byowning both!

Kenton,

Exactly right! I like your way of thinking--it justifies my having so many plants.

OH, Allison, I love both of those variegated minis!!!

I clicked on the 'Baby Moonbeam' photo to enlarge it & said, "awwwwwwwww..... what a sweetie!" DH, who is working from home this morning, turned around to look -- I think he was expecting to see a picture of a kitten! LOL

I've only purchased leaves once (so far), for 'Rob's Outer Orbit'. I was excited yesterday to see that both leaves were well rooted.... can't wait for the babies! I'm keeping the firstborn, LOL, and the second goes to my secret EB buddy. :-)

Here's the link to a photo, so you can share my excitement.... http://www.robsviolet.com/rob's_outer_orbit.htm

yes, it was me. I've been watching pjsviolets on eBay they had one. I think a few other had them too. Thanks for hanging on to her for me!
I really like the ones with Irish as their first name - green edged flowers!

I love Rob's Zinfandel! Love the long skinny leaves! (like this one too http://www.africanviolet.info/Violet_Lab/DL0401_lg.jpg)

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Sounds good Treasure.
It does sound like our collections are different..which can be good for both of us :)
I got lots of mini but all different then yours!
I did get a tiny golden eye now though...I can take a picture of the plantlet if you like so you can use it.
Also if I have anything else you can use a picture of, let me know.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Oh, I am looking forward to swapping minis with all of you! As you know, I especially love girl foliage and variegated foliage, so Allison's 'Electric Cowboy' and 'Sassy Wonders' are both high on my list!

I've got 'Irish Flirt' and 'Lil Bit O Irish'... I'm pretty sure I have leaves down for both, but I'll check.

Here's 'Lil Bit O Irish' with a friend. :-)

Edited to add, don't you love the way most of the threads on this forum end up involving plans to trade plants? Y'all are FUN!

Yup..I did Treasure..all my minis donated to the cause :)
I do have a question though.
I was told to get better variegation..I should start the plant from a leaf with less vareigation..Is there any truth to that? I ask because I have argyle socks and well mine is VERY variegated but I have seen some that have very little variegation

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

VERY pretty plant critter :) Loving the froggie too!

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Violet
Your Baby Colors is just beautiful! I love the varrigation.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

When growing variegated plants choose a leaf with all or mostly green. Every AV book will let you know this info. It's amazing but a beautiful variegated baby will grow :))
I have Golden EYE too. I have several mini,Semi-mini girl leaves foliages. I love Wonderous girl also , Honey blue angel nice girl mini with green edge flowers :))
I have Mini Minx it ias a hard slow grow rare vintage mini. I have sold a few. She has girl foliage double lavender two-tone green edge. girl foliage vintage. So will see what I can get her to do the next couple months if she gets big enough to share leaves with me :))
Lorry there are thousands of Miniature and semi-minature African violets so I'm sure well'll all have a few different ones from each other :))
It's amazing, Allison

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Lorry, I don't think starting from a leaf with less variegation will make any difference to the amount of variegation on the baby... BUT, using a leaf with more green on it will definitely increase your chances of the leaf rooting, and may shorten the time for propagation, simply because that leaf has more chlorophyll available to it.
