Sweet Pepper Recommendations

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

Would like some input from some of my fellow Central Texas gardeners as to what sweet pepper varieties have done well for them in my area. I would like to restrict recommendations to those varieties available from Johnny's Selected Seeds, Stokes, or Burpee, as their seed has performed well in the past for me. Please include suggestions from all types ( standard bells, colored bells, Italian, and cubanelles). I have my favorites, but I would like to try a few new ones this year. Sweet peppers seem to vary greatly in adaptability to our conditions here, so I want to increase my odds. So let's hear from you guys out there as to winners (and losers). I'm putting my seed orders together this week and am anxious to get your input. For those of you who are doing the same, I would like to recommend a couple of fantastic tomato varieties from Johnny's that have made my 5-Star list. These are Red Sun and Sun Gold, which are still producing for me from spring plantings. I would also like recommendations for Jalapeno types in this area.
