I got my 'Lady Margaret' from Logee's about two weeks ago. I waited a couple of days before repotting it. I also had gotten two abutilons from them. The abutilons are doing great. The passiflora is dropping leaves and looks ever so slightly wilty. I'm afraid I'm losing it. I have it where my large Passiflora caerulea 'Clear Sky' is, and that one is in its second blooming since I brought it inside about six weeks ago. It's much larger and established, and the new one is small, but I really fear it's not going to make it. Any suggestions? I think I'll contact Logee's if it's still looking bad by the middle of next week.
What am I doing wrong with my Passiflora 'Lady Margaret'?
Sounds like it either wasn't rooted good or has a some kind of root or lower stem problem. I'd call Logees, they're pretty good about replacing stuff.
I just hear from Logee's, and they said they'd ship a replacement as soon as the weather permitted. Did you know that passifloras love poor soil and hate fertilizer? The one I got at the Cleveland Flower Show said to feed it every two weeks! What's a gardener to do???
I just throw magnesium on it now and then, but I know what you mean. I think different climates warrants different methods.
Mine get fed once a year if they're lucky. If they get chlorotic I give them liquid sulphur and iron and in spring they get epsom salts.
I have a Lady Margaret that is taking over my house and its never gotten any fertilize! I'd hate to see what it would do if I fed it.
