WANTING : JOBS TEARS Seeds
I have some I can send out to you. They are from the summer before last but should still be viable.
I am too late it seems!
Plant Madness,,
I would love them.. What can I send you?
Zarcanat...
If you have some I would trade with you also.
vicki
Think I have about all the seeds I need at this point, thanks though. I'll send them out tomorrow, I have a huge box of bubble envelopes. (I am assuming you are in the add. exch. ?)
Cris
I wanted to give it as a freebie but I had a look to your list and saw something that attracted my eye (which I am trying more and more to close LOL!): CARYOPTERIS –LONGWOOD BLUE, is this plant flowering the first year from seeds? Is it a really good butterfly attractor? I will prepare a bubble mailer for you and send it on Monday.
Zarcanat
I am not sure if it is a bloomer the first year from seed. I bought the plant 2 springs ago so I am not sure. I have seen butterflys on mine and also bees. So I would say yes to the butterfly catcher.
vicki
Lets try it and see!
ok, will mail them this week...
vicki
I too have been on the lookout for these seeds - does any one still have some they would like to trade? Julie

vicki
JRush, if you still need these, I have some.
Thank you - but I did receive some in the mail yesterday from Cris! I can't wait until Spring to watch them grow...
I sent them out last week Vicki so they should be to you soon.
Cris
Just a couple of comments:
The year before last I brought a pot of them inside and they over-wintered. The site says HHA but I wonder if they are not perennial in some places. I think they look good in a cluster rather than all alone. The stalks will dry out and can be used as dried cornstalks for fall decorations also. They must be pretty easy from seed as I don't remember them needing anything special in the line of pre germination.
I am going to try more ornamental grasses in my landscape this year. They look so nice after everything else is gone.
Mountain meadow seeds has the pampas grass seeds. Has anyone had any experience growing these from seed?
Hiya Cris
I recieved the jobs tears today,, thank you so very much. I cant wait to plant them : )
vicki
I have only sowed Fountain, Blue Hair, tufted hair, Dragon Claw millet & purple Millet from seed. All have had decent germination rates. I surface sowed all of them, & placed a thin layer of peat moss over them. This makes it easy to keep the seeds slightly damp. The perennial grasses took 2 years to mature & form flower stalks & seeds, & I was able to divide them in their second year as well. I think the Pampas is akin to the fountain grass in that it grows swiftly - mine outgrew its spot in no time! I hope this helps - Julie
Thanks Julie. I know I divided some miscanthus that was only in the ground for a couple of years and I could have used a chain saw to cut through it. LOL
Thank you for the seeds Vicki, I just received them today, I will take them as a Chrismas gift!
Regards
Zarcanat
Zarcanat
