I am new to the site so I am unsure if (1) this just isn't an item that anyone wants or (2) I posted it incorrectly.
So I will try it one last time.
I have several well-rooted plants in 3 inch pots, preferably for trade.
They come from several mature specimens who just have runners all over the place. Since I live in zone 6a, every Spring I put them in the ground and every Fall I put them back in pots. But I never know what to do with all the babies. I just can't bring myself to compost them. Invariably I save them in the greenhouse over the winter and trade them with my local nursery.
I was just hoping that someone might want to adopt them. [Did I mention that they are excellent specimens for outdoor use (pots or in the ground) and are very deer resistant?]
Thanks for listening.
CLOSED: One last time.. Colocasia esculenta 'Fontanesii'
Hello,
I would love to try some of your babies in my greenhouse. What are you looking for?
Winni
Will you take some cannas for them or postage
I would like one or 2, but not sure what you are looking for. LMK and maybe I have some.
Sandy ^8^
I would love one: could I put it out in summer and bring it in in winter? (That's what I do with houseplants here.) I couldn't find 'Fontanesii' in the plantfiles - what does it look like?
Thanks. I'll try google.

Dear All-
Thanks for the interest and thanks to mkjones for posting the image!
I will send the plants within the next two weeks. I am looking for a small break in the sub 32F weather here. I will post an email to everyone when I send them.
Since it is my first time doing this, I would love it if everyone waits to see if the plants arrive safely and then send me their exchange plants.
I will be sending plants to the following people: [Let me know if I forgot someone]

Great!
If ever you need styrofoam boxes for free, I suggest asking your local fish stores. Mine have a bunch of styrofoam boxes from fish and water plant shipments.

Thanks. Please give me an idea of what type of plants you are looking for. I have mainly tropicals, canna, banana, plumeria, snail vine, durantas, porter weed, heliconia, etc.
Got it/them today - early Christmas present! Thank you - do you need the $6 in check, cash or how?
xxxx, Carrie
Jan-
I would really like to try the canna or the plumeria.
Thanks, ROX
Carrie-
Cash or check would be fine.
Thanks, ROX
I'll get something out to you after Chrismas. I'll surprise you...

will send you some cannas.
Elva
Rox,
Got any more? I have some Canna rhizomes I could send. I also have some Giant Upright EEs, if you're interested. Actually, I have a lot of plants I could trade.
Steve.
Steve-
I do have more. I would love to trade for some giant upright EE.
How many would you like? They are about 2 months old now with about 2-4 strong leaves each.
ROX
Oh ROX, if that's what they're supposed to look, like mine didn't. The stems definitely froze. I was kinda guessing that's what they were supposed to be like... And I noticed that everyone who got them so far is west and south of me. I probably shouldn't try any more plant trades until at least March. Any ideas, will the roots grow new leaves?
xxxx :-( Carrie
P.S. Happy Christmas!

Carrie-
Oh no. I am so sorry that the stems froze! The roots may still be OK. Cut off the stems to where they are no longer mushy to prevent rotting and leave the plants alone with just a little water for a few weeks. The stem may have frozen but the rootball may have protected the tuber. Let me know what happens.
I will happily save a few plants until March for you (or whenever this frozen tundra winter is over or gives us a break) . They will be bigger and should ship just fine!
Hopefully no one else has this problem, but if they do and let me know I will willingly ship more in March .
ROX
Thanks, Rox, I'll give it a try. I've gotten many wonderful surprises from the "cut off all the dead stuff, then wait and see" method, but also many still dead plants! LOL. I'll keep you apprised.
xxxx, Carrie
Rox...if you still have any left, I'd love one...Let me know what kind of trade you'd like to make. I have some tropicals that haven't been hit by the chilly weather yet...
MerryMary
MerryMary-
