I have no clue what happened to the other thread. So, the story goes........ Many of you followed along as I raised my tadpoles in there 5 gal. paint bucket pond. Well, tonight, out of the darkness comes the sound of Mr. Frog coming from the bucket (same bucket) where I had tossed some brug tips in water. Here he is. It was dark outside and I am sure that he did not enjoy me lighting up his life.
#2 Put Brugs in a Bucket, They will Come
He is so cute. So he never comes out? Enough bugs go in there to feed him?
Is this your other thread you were looking for??

The frogs around here are free-range. They come and go as they please. I cannot tell one from the other to tell if it is the same one lol. Look at the belly on that frog! Does he look like he has missed any groceries? Kell, there are so many bugs around here that I could probably feed myself. Lol! Those little green caterpillers are attacking again. Grrr. I just used the systemic a couple of month ago but here they are. I am sick of the smell of the Bayer and the oil soap. I do not like to use the soap because of my froggy and spider buddies.
I have killed those little green eating machines with Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). Have you tried Bt yet? It won't hurt anything else. It is not a chemical insecticide.
Though when you read thow it works, I must admit I do feel terrible for the cats.

Though as I recall, it does smell.
Cute Tree Frog. We have a lot of tree frogs here too. There was one in my GH a few weeks ago. We have no toads tho & they are the best bug & slug eaters. I imported a toad last summer, gave him/her a designer toad house & it stuck around until it got to freezing & away it went to?? I named it Ernie he was a pretty good sized toad. I was really suprised he stuck around all summer. Maybe he'll be back? I'm not sure where they go in the winter.
Yep. Use BT too. None of my nearest neighbors are big on gardening so I guess they think I am an oasis. I just have a good case of "I am sick of spraying and tending to these plants" syndrome. Kind of like "I need a new hairsyle" syndrome, it comes and goes lol. I want to just sit for a weekend and watch the larkspurs grow.
Bj I think that they bury themselves. My Mother had one in its toad hole for years in Napa. We had an albino bullfrog in what was then our frog garden for a couple of years till she heard the call of the big bull.
frogs, your babies are precious, I love them!!! Mine look very similar but are more green...
