Ipomoea carnea

Bush Morning Glory, Morning Glory Tree (Ipomoea carnea) seedpods (seed pods) look like wooden roses when open, contain 3 to 4 furry seeds and are very attractive.

Clearest and most aesthetically pleasing photo of the dried seedpods of this plant that I have ever seen...Great Photo!

Thanks htop !...

Thanks for the compliments, Ron. I was fortunate to be able to photograph them with the sunlight being perfect. This photo has become one of my favorites and I am pleased that you enjoyed it. The dried seedods are so beautiful and sturdy that they are used in flower arrangements and other arts and crafts. We have experienced such a mild winter so far (record breaking temps in December and January) that the plants are still blooming. After a hard freeze, the plants die back, but the beautiful seedpods remain for a very long time.

Hi Hazel,
I bet those seed pods would be great in dried arrangements.

By the way, I have emailed you several times over the past 6 months with no reply. Are you getting my messages? I got your Christmas card so I know you are still thinking of me.

I miss the old days when all the new pictures were posted each day in the newsletter. Now I just can't get in the habit of going to the PF site and looking at them. You have always posted the best pics!

Thanks Susan,

I received your email and I'm not ignoring you, I will respond when I have the time to write a nice letter. I have been taking care of my Mother at her home. She has been very ill. I just came home to pay some bills and water my plants and will be going back to take care of her. I do think of you often.

The seed pods are quite lovely. I was going to snatch some, but they plants were cut back after a freeze. :(

Okay...great to hear from you and know that you are fine. Sorry to hear that your Mother is not doing well. I, too, am spending a great deal of time taking care of my own Mother.
Later,
Susan
