is this bulb good?

Last spring I planted several eucomis. All came up but a couple. Then yesterday, while I was digging to plant some more bulbs, I found this eucomis bulb. had not roots, no nothing, but it was nice and firm. Is this bulb any good? what could have caused it to not grow? I put it back in the ground, not knowing that it'll do.

If the bulb looked firm and unrotted I would say it will be ok and will probably grow next season. Some bulbs can take some time to settle in. Good luck with it, I love eucomis!
