Kell, my Rosamond is not dark either

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It is darker in the summer, but is very light in fall/winter. I think it likes heat!

And its calyx is freaking out. LOL. See I told you the calyx can be weird in winter. Now I am back to wondering if that other one is red. I am so hoping!! LOL. My Rosamond is even lighter! After I feed the cats and cook dinner for Tom, I will look for a pic of mine.

Kell, what got me to thinking that she is "Red" is the area she was in. I planted the ones you sent me next in the row past the ones Tracey sent me. I wrote on the stems, but the freeze last year turned the stems to mush so no more names! I have been blaming Bleu for stepping on "Red." I may have to apologize to him, lol.
You would appreciate that side of the garden, every brug is pink!

How did you get your Rosamonds to root? I've had 2 and both rotted. Not sure what I am doing wrong with them. I had tried to root both in potting mix. Are they a hard one to root? Thanks

Crystal

I rooted the Rosamonds in vermiculite.

Lets hope, Susie! Red is yours you remember. And at your house it is Pink. Intense Pink. LOL Bleu may been falsely accused.

Oh don't you hate that Crystal! I never have found it hard to root but then I think it can depends on what time of year you try. I do the best when I only water when the soil gets very dry.

Here is a picture of my Rosamond I ran across yesterday from a long while back. See how anemic it always is.

My pinks are always light too:-) I don't have Rosamond, but I have Rosabelle, and it always is very light here no matter how much heat we have. I think Cupid's Blush is the one that gets the darkest in the heat of summer for me:

Clare, I can trade you a Rosamond for a Rosabelle in the spring!

Susie, will try to root Rosamond in vermiculite next time. Mine rotted, too! Perhaps I will have better luck in Spring.

Susie, of course! I'll just send you a cutting or two when I send you 'Duchess.' I think Rosabelle is even lighter than Rosamond though. Here's my Rosabelle below:

I think Rosabelle is always pale. She wasn't very dark even in TN.
