These are beautiful pix.....How do you stand having everything die every year?

Wow, those are beautiful. Do you have to take them all inside for winter?

I have to take in a lot of plants. Most the cannas are stored in the garage or mulched heavily. The colocasias are mulched and some put in greenhouses. The bananas are dug up and put in greenhouses besides the hardy varieties. The rest usually goes in gingers caladiums Amorphophallus angel trumpets and so on.

I love your garden. Did you start out with a specific plan? Could you share basics on starting a garden like this? Thanks, Karen

Well- the photos certainly are inspirational- especially to me with my Wilma ravaged yard. If you can do that in an area that freezes there is no reason I can't do better here in my neck o' the woods.

Thanks for helping encourage me to "do it again".
Almost makes me willing to try cannas again although I find those caterpillars disgusting!!

I keep a list of "must see" nurseries and botanical gardens on my Palm Pilot. They are broken down by state, city. When I travel this is always handy and I have gotten to see some fabulous places and meet some fabulous people.
Now I am trying really hard to think up a reason to get to Louisville next summer. Your nursery looks extraordinary.

Cearbhaill,

Sure wish we'd gotten together before Wilma...I am in the same boat....or I should say sinking ship....But, it all will come back....I hope.
