Are old non-stick pots safe to use?

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Greetings,

I have an old 2 quart Circulon pan - anodized aluminum with ridges in the bottom which are supposed to make the non-stick last longer. Well, it's completely worn off even though it's NEVER had a metal utensil used in it. I've replaced it with one I found at a restaurant supply store. (If you want to see pics, it's about 22 messages down in the Coffee... thread for Nov. 28 -

My question really has to do with whether the old one is safe to use. Does anyone know? If it is, I'll give it to the local resource centre for a family that doesn't have any cooking pots. If not, I'll throw it away.

Ann
