Two pretty pink seedlings

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

This one is a L'Amour seedling. It is not tall, blooms all the time, holds up to the wind and is always dark pink like this.

This one does not hold up to the wind, wilts in the hot sun and is tall and skinny, but I just love the color. The wind was blowing when I took this pic, so I talked Bill into holding the flower still for me.

Both are a great color.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gosh, why can't any of my brugs get that real pink color. So pretty Susie! And so very real pink!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

My pictures are clearer, lol. I used the camera from work. It's a Kodak and easy enough for a dummy like me to use! It has these little international symbols: action, close-up, scenery, etc.......and when you choose a setting, a little window comes up and tells you what it's for!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Nice color Susie. Maybe it is the cool nights and warm days.

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

They are really so beautiful, great pics.

Looked at pictures of others before and I think yours look especially nice .I don't think it can get nicer than that .LOVE the vibrant color ,

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

Gorgeous pink!

Beautiful colour Susie.

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

That Bill of yours is such a sweet heart!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

The pinks always look better here in the fall/winter. Our days are mid 80's, nights in the 60's. I guess that's perfect weather for them! The orangey peachy ones look good too.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Yeah, he's pretty good but don't tell him, he's hard enough to live with as it is! I cut and trimmed stuff in the gardens and made big piles in the yard this weekend. I was too tired to haul it to brush pile, but he was nice and did it for me.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

What a lucious shade of pink!

Your DH is definitely a keeper!!

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Susie,
The color on both of them is beautiful. Your Brugs must really be enjoying the weather. How much colder will it normally get?

We didn't seem to have a fall season here. I was gone 2 weeks at the beginning of the month and got back just in time to get my Brugs in the greenhouse. Some had leaves that has been nipped by frost.

Veronica

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Veronica, our normal low temp is 35-39 and usually happens end of Dec/first part of Jan but this weird weather we're having, there's no normal! Tonight I think it might get down to 48, brrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

So pretty Susie, they are beauties, I love their color!! The first time we had a cold snap, the ones that were blooming never got much darker - then, as they adjusted to the colder weather, they darkened up, but still not as dark as in hotter temps, yet it seems like they have lots more blossoms, more fragrant and the blossoms last longer. Hmmmm, I just never know...

Campbell River, BC(Zone 8a)

I love the colour of both of them.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Gorgeous color on both of them, Susie. You've got the magic touch. My brugs are blooming better now that it is cooler than they did all summer too. Cooler is definitely better for them, it seems.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Both are beauties, Susie.

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

Love the color!

Crumpler, WV

Hey Susie,

Beautiful blooms on both of them, but I like the color on the second one best.

The Kodak camera you described sounds like the Kodak EasyShare. That is what I have and I love it. Like you said, all you have to do is turn the dial to Close Up, Action, etc. It makes it very easy to take really good pictures.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Yes, I think that's it. It has a little port you just set the camera on and push a button and it uploads the pics to the computer!

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh its beautiful love the colors.. its on my w. list now to with gobs of others..lol... great pictures to..

Twyla

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Elva

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

We neeed more pink on this forum for decoration!

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Bring on the pink >LOL
Let s do the pink brug dance...

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

I am all for it :-)

Beautiful rich color Susie.
To bad it doesn't hold up in your sun. Maybe it will surprise you next year and hold up.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Yes, Kin, I agree - I had some that look totally different their 2nd season...

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I'm going to leave it where it is and hope it gets tough by next summer. I put some pollen from a tougher pink brug. Maybe I'll get a seedling with that nice dark color and it will hold up in the heat.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Seems like all my first year cuttings melt but are considerably better the 2nd season. OTOH, seedlings seem to do good from the get go, makes sense, i guess...

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Love them both Susie!!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey, maybe you should send me a piece, Susie and then I can see if it is really red.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

OK, as soon as the branches grow a little, I'll send you a piece.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well, you are sure easy. Or are you going to do a Kelley? LOL

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

I live in Austin and experienced the same with my yellow Brug . It hardley bloomed this summer. I assumed it was because of my inexperience. I noticed that many folks on this forum feed their Brugs a bit more. If anyone has any advice I'm ready. My yellow Brug has been been blooming ever since the weather cooled down. My current problem is spider mites. the worst epidemic I've ever gone through with my plants in 25 yrs. I've lost some of my oldest plants. I've been scubing with Colox for the pat three days.
My question is how can I keep the spider mites off of my baby Brugies. They are inside. The rest of the Hullabaloo is going on in the green house and on the patio. What a mess!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, I will send you pictures and only charge you a small fee for feeding and watering the brug I promised you!
Cindy, I had spider mites so bad on two brugs I finally cut them back. I just cut all the stems off that had leaves,
then I washed the trunks with soapy water. The leaves came back lush and green, no spider mites and they
are loaded with buds/flowers.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Fabulous color Susie. Looks like another winner

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

At least you won't charge for the brug pics! Send a lot, we need to bond.
