Way to go Karyn. Those are some pretty chickens. Cute group of people in that picture. Did they pay you for your time? LOL!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

They paid me over $1,000.00,plus paid for my hotel for 2 nights(400+ a night on 44th st in Manhatten) ,breakfast and lunch was catered,so I just had to pay for my dinner, they paid for the parking garage and valet parking.... had a lincoln town car take me too and from the studio, the chickens got a ride in the van......and Vogue had enough pull to allow my chickens into that ritzy hotel the first night.....ROTFLMAO
You should have seen me pull up in front of the hotel....pickup truck full of chickens.......ditzy blond........it was too funny
I had traffic stopped dead

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

What a HOOT! That is by far the most gorgeous chic I've ever seen. Congratulations, CC. Say.. can I have your autograph?

Barb

Edited to ask.. does the breed as a whole have that coloring? That is amazing!

Karyn
good going there ... it does take some time for the fashon elite to catch up with the country folk... lovely bird there ... to be sure ... but I feel passed over you didn't stop in here for a visit... Gordon

Springfield, MO(Zone 6b)

An Amazing bird!.........That is cool and funny at the same time.

Congratulations CC!!

It's too cool!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Gordon,
Ya know,I thought about you when I was there
I really didn't have much free time, but inbetween shots, while they were setting things up, I would just sit by the window looking out.
The studio was on Broadway in Soho, and as I sat there looking out the window I could see roof top gardens.....It was so cool and I did think of you when I saw them.I couldn't believe all the trees I could see up on the rooftops
I wish I had binoculars so I could have seen them closer
I got in the first night at 9.by the time I got settled in my room it was 10:30 and I had been up since 8:30 the night before(yes,26 hours,I worked all the night before)
The next night I got back to my hotel at 6,took a walk to find some dinner, went for a walk to see the area(down to 42nd st),got back to my room at 8 and crashed, then spent 10 hours at the studio on thursday, didn't get out of the city till 7:30,got lost, and didn't get home till 1:30 am
So there really wasn't any visiting time, maybe if anything comes up again I'll have time to see you

barb,
If you click on the link at the top the rest of the pictures from the shoot are there
The picture up top is a White Crested Black Polish,They come in many colors, and I have many varieties
They had asked for black and white birds for this particular shoot

Perennialgirl ,
there is a Animal Talent scout,"All Tame Animals" who had contacted me a few years ago about my birds
she had gotten my name from someone who had seen my birds at a show. All the other jobs she contacted me about just didn't work out either because of my work schedule ,or not enough money to make it worth my while to drive 5 hours down the city and 5 hours back plus work with them all day.....and with the price of gas......

I think of this as a once in a life time experience
and I am walking on cloud nine...at least till I gotta go out in the snow and cold to feed my babies....LOL

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I'm so very impressed and happy for your having this experience. coolness beyond words!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

What a fun thread!!! Congrats to you and your chickens CC!!! After speaking to you regarding chickens, I was surprised to find pure bred chickens right here in our area. We are going to to look again tomorrow, we want to add to our flock, they really are fun and quiet, everyone loves them...

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

Karyn... well OK... do stop by... you were real close there inSOHO to some I work with.. and about 10 minutes from my Brooklyn Garden..... but I understand the pressures of getting the shots ... Again..Beautiful crested... he really shows off the pearls... Gordon

Watertown, NY

Adrian, MI(Zone 5b)

Congratulations CC!! I hope you can keep them down on the farm, now that they've been to the Big City. I'll bet they've learned to strut a little more, now that they are famous!! Ha!!Happy for you!!
