Oh dear, I see an order for h. magnifica in my future.....Those are beautiful, Carol!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Carol -
Oh those are both GORGEOUS!!! But I'm particularly taken with the H. magnifica! COOOOOL! By chance, was H. magnifica one of the hoya cuttings you sent everyone a while back? Cuz the leaf sure looks familiar.

Hi ya Bets! Know what? I think it was, 'cuz I got some with my last order, too. Sure hope so, anyway. That is one dynamite bloom!

Barb

P.S. I have mine rooting away in the bubbler.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Ya know...I don't remember....but they could have been the H. aff. albiflora...very very similar!!

Christina....you are right...DARN. Have sent pic to D. Liddle from whom I got it labeled H. eitapensis. Now, the cat may have gotten creative???...

Mt Zion, IL(Zone 5b)

Hi Barb! Yeah, me too! Hoping that's what it is. I have two pots rooting! Keep this in mind and we'll compare notes, K?
Carol - we'll keep you posted, too!

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

Carol, you originally tagged it H. aff albiflora but then sent me an e-mail saying that David (?) or Ted (?) told you it was most likely H. magnifica. Whatever it is, I'm glad to have it because I love the feel and look of those big, light green, fuzzy leaves. When it blooms we will find out for sure. If it indeed isn't, then I'll order one! How's that!!
Bets... deal!

Christina would you please post a picture of the leaves of your H. eitapensis? I have two plants both labeled eitapensis, one from Carol and the other from a place in Florida (Tropical Nursery) but with different size leaves. TIA

Blessings,

This name thingy gets so confusing. I originally had it as H. aff. albiflora. Then Ted Green said it looked like H. magnifica... H. albiflora has much smaller flowers, and they are the size of H. magnifica...but David Liddle says the calyx is wrong for it to be H. magnifica....he is of the opinion that they could be ssp. of one another but hasn't done any research to back that up...so we will wait and see. Right? For the time being I call mine Big Bertha!!!

LOL!! Big Bertha suits me fine! Names are only important when trading or for reference. I'll continue to root Big B and see what the blooms look like next Spring or Summer.

Carol, check my website for leaves and plant photos: http://www.myhoyas.com/Hoya%20eitapensis%20min.htm

When I first got it I thought I had gotten another H. anulata. I think they look similar: http://www.myhoyas.com/Hoya%20anulata%20min.htm
