Pictures of the yellow and the pink. The yellow H. heuschkeliana is such a lovely buttery yellow...and it smells so buttery!!!

Does the pink one smell the same, or something different. I have little rooted cuttings of these, but nothing big enough to bloom yet.

Oh be still my heart.. I love these guys.. I swear I have gained 5lbs just smelling these, I need to get it out of my kitchen. Well ya know I love these and you have my spring order already :) Everyone needs this little beauty in there collection. I bought a huge one from Mel and it has not stopped blooming.. I mean full out blooming.. I purchased another one from Carol and it's in my bathroom just blooming away too. My DH has nicknamed them big hussy and little hussy. Some where I read that these are always in bloom, is this true for those of you that have them?
Tami
I have a large pink one that blooms alot. My yellow one is still a cutting, so no blooms on it yet. I love the smell.
Blessings,
Awanda
Well...I find the yellow one has a stronger scent....but it could just be me!!!
Uh oh, what am I doing wrong with this one. When I got my plant from Carol in the summer, it was blooming. It hasn't bloomed since I got it. What conditions do you all give yours?
Heather
Mine gets bright indirect light....lots and LOTS of water.
One of mine is morning sun, and one of mine is afternoon sun. I think the one in the morning sun is getting a little too much sun as the leaves are yellowing a bit, but this is the one in full bloom. And they will def. have to be moved this summer. I water about every third day, as they both need to be repotted.
Carol,
when you say lots and lots of water for the Heuschkeliana, what do you mean? Do you water once a day? Do you use superthrive, fert., etc. each time you water, every other time, etc.??? Inquiring minds wanna know...
Ann
Like Tami...I have them all over. My 'barometer' lives in my shower and I feel how heavy (or not) she is...and I dunk her in the shower. The others, I keep damp/humid/warm. In the GH I water/fertilize with foliar feeding (you know how long it takes to water over 1000 pots by hand?) and I have them top dressed with triple 14. I foliar feed every other watering with 1/2 strength Dyna Grow and every two weeks I add Messenger (when I remember!!!). With H. heuschkeliana I find the 'weight' factor is a good indicator: my soil is so lose that I can water every day and it doesn't mater.... others who use a different mix may need to let it dry out a bit more.
The Yellow H. heuschkeliana I have growing in the greenhouse is hanging from the top...so it staying VERY warm, gets lots of indirect light and watered about every 2 days.
I am in love with the yellow flowering one!!! The flower stands out from the leaves so beautifully... AH...butter! At least smelling it doesn't widen my hips (that much)....
Carol
Hoyas never cease to amaze me...lovely and unique blooms.
Hmmm, those are pretty nice Carol. You did mention them....there were just too many to choose from. sigh!
Well my hips are getting bigger. Really this is just a little darling. It smells as cute as it looks. Reminds me of the embordered sp. flowers you find on little girl dresses. I can't wait to get my yellow ones. Hurry spring....
They remind me of the flowers on huckleberry bushes.
