We're deviating from the traditional this year and having fresh crab from the pacific coast (Of course dipped in hot garlic butter!), fresh lobster (pacific) if it's available, Caeser Salad and french bread. Of course some fab Napa Valley Pinot Grigio and Sauv. Blanc too!
We do this several times a year when it's crab season (we only live about 45 minutes from the coast) and lay down a bunch of newspaper, crab crackers and then put the crab in the middle of the table. Everyone just stuffs themselves and then we roll up the newspaper and toss it in the trash. Easy clean up!
We used to do this with craw-dads and shrimp when I was a kid in the south!

T'giving brings CRAB and a buds on my Dr. Seuss and big yellow no name! Hey Moonglow, DH just got home with a cooler full of crab from Bodega Bay! Woo Hoo! He wasn't able to find the lobster guy tho so we'll just settle for crab (yea right!)
My dbl yellow metel datura is budding up again too! Nice TG present!

I think Annapet and I will show up at Lali's door! Sounds too good. So you get crabs live off the docks in Bodega Bay?? Tell me about the fresh lobster. Is it the spiny ones? Are they live. I may feel a trip coming on. LOL The best crab I ever had was from an oyster company on Point Reyes. They had them in a big pool, just caught. Incredibly sweet.
Shoot, we are having turkey!! With my Mom's sausage stuffing. Now I want fresh crab. LOL. But we are making Strawberry Panna Cotta which is different for us!

My Mom, S, SIL, and I are cooking a traditional Southern meal: fresh Turkey, baked ham, cornbread dressing, "greasy" rice (made with the ham stock), homemade mac & cheese, fresh pole green beans, fresh collards, candied yams, cranberry sauce, giblet gravy, yeast rolls, sweet tea, apple pie with maple crust, chocolate cream pie and coconut cream pie. I'm sure I left something out, but afterall--it is 6:00AM, LOL.
Fresh crabs sound wonderful....maybe Friday night, lol.

Happy Turkey Day everyone!! I will be deep frying Three Turkey's today, they have been in a salt brine for around 20 hrs and are ready to go! The brine makes them super moist and delicious. We will have all the traditional sides. including a few deserts. We have a large family, around 25 with everybody. I will be watching the parade's this morning on TV and cooking this afternoon.

Counting my blessings today.I was able to spend a wonderful day with my family.this time last year I was in the hospital with double pemonia..having had a stoke 3 weeks before that. didnt get out of the hospital till mid dec. I think so this year I am so blessed to be here...
