Coconut cream pie need help today!!!

Every time I make a coconut cream pie, I follow the directions exactly to the TEE, But .........


When i'm finished, the pie filling is still watery, what can i do to stop this, it's my husband's favorite pie, and I mess it up everytime.

PLease give me your secrets.

It does have a meregne topping on it. and I do follow the recipe exactly cooking it exactly as long as I'm suppose to,
