soil soup - compost fertilizer liquid

has anyone used this product. our local nursery sold it for $5 for a gal. I used it, and am not astute enough to know if it really is worth the $$ -- would appreciate some feedback. notice in one of my nursery supply catalogue there is a set up which you can purchase using a concentrate of this liquid composte, add 1 gal water, and mix it up in a 5 gal bucket with mixer device and use it to water your plants. I want to know if it's worth buying -- I could put it on my xmas list.
