Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

It is a good one, I've had it for a long time, love it!

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Very pretty. Those flowers look huge!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Your new to Brugs this year....you could have fooled me! Just beautiful!!

Arlington, TX

Thanks all
Kris in Dallas gave away many this summer, so I adopted a good size one. This one is the best bloomer. It must just be naturally willing to put on a show.

I had one yellow return in the garden from last year, and got two more from cuttings. They haven't branched out like this, more verticle.

Now I'm in Brug Love. They should come with an addictive plant warning

Hi Cynthia. You're hooked well and good now! No 12-step program for this one, though, so just accept that you'll probably be doddering around sniffing and clipping and bubblering your way into antiquity with your Brugs. You'll probably branch out into Daturas.. and Hoyas.. and who knows what else, too, if you haven't already!
Welcome to the Fold!!! ;-)

All I hear about lately is hoyas. I sure hope I do not catch that bug. They look like so much fun though. I need to stay far away fromt that forum. I think they are the kind of plant that starts sneaking in, one by one because they are so small and then before you know it, you are addicted to them!

Your Aurea pink is sure pretty. I remember way back it was an Aurea Pink that caught my eye. I believe an old member named Dee posted hers and I fell in love!

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

Oh but Kell.... let me send you one or two rooted cuttings. You'll love the tropical feel to the foliage.. the waxy beauty of the bloom clusters.. the awsome fragrance of the flowers..
Come hither, my beauty... and sample the delights of a new and delicious addiction...

You have D-mail...

LOL. You are so naughty, Barb!! Trying to tempt such a weak person as I am. I am being strong today though because my DH wants to know how we are going to eat turkey in the dining room. It is wall to wall plants. I may be at the point myself where I too must say NO MORE PLANTS!! Even though it KILLS ME!! BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

Kell, you can hang the hoya in amongst the brugs and they will not take up a bit more room. (frog, ducking and running.) It is true. I have hoyas and plummies there. The hummers think that the nice stiff hoya leaves are perfect perches.

Your aurea is beautifull.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You better duck and run, Frogs! LOL. You in zone 10 who can do anything you want. I do not get much frost but when I do, it can kill! Thus my house and hoophouse get filled up in winter! What a way to live.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I thought that was the way everybody lives??

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Gloria. Only the nuts, I think!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

You sure should be proud of your brug! It's awesome!

Thanks Kell........I needed that!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey Gloria, it takes one to know one! LOL. Are you having Thanksving at your house for your kids?

HI All
well I just received a private email from someone knowledgeable. THis is not Aurea pink. It's some unknown hybrid that's been mistaken or mislabeled. Sorry to add to the mis information.

It is still beautiful and the fragrance is sweet like honeysuckle, but it has no name

Sure looked like one to me. http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/46281/
Shows you what I know. LOL As I recall Dee's was very dark but it may have been taken in the heat of summer.

All brugs are no names until they are named. So do not worry! LOL. Some of my best brugs have no names.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

The one I have pictured on that page is not an aurea. NHE sold one as either aurea pink or pink aurea. Someplace on one of the brug sites it was stated that it wasn't a pure aurea. What a disappointment. I know that aurea blooms should stand out from the plant and not hang. They have 3-5 slits in the calyx and the anthers are not fused together. They also have nice long tendrils. Other than Rothkirch and maybe Culebra, do we have any pure aureas in the US?
