Many of you know I lost everything including 75% of my plants in Hurricane Katrina. If any of you have annual or perennial seeds especially for butterfly/hummer gardening for SASE I would be truly grateful. I am in a new home now 18 miles north of the old home and starting from scratch. Please let me know. Thanks in advance

I'm still a newbie gardener, but everyone here has been so generous with me, how could I not help you out? I'll go through what I have and put together a selection for you. I may not have a lot of some of the seeds, but I'll more than happily share with you! I can't imagine what you have been through, but I'm so very happy you're safe and healthy and ABLE to start over with your gardens.

Zarcanat I think I still have the seeds I had harvested before the hurricane from the turks cap for you and it is one of the plants I was able to find and save. I did have the mind to take what few seeds I had been able to harvest with me. Now the thing is where to find them lol
Looking for easy to grow seeds for part sun, possible full sun if DH can get some of the trees cleared over winter. Like zinnias, cosmos, salvias, good bloomer for the butterflies and hummers. Oh the most wonderful thing happened this morning and this evening. I had 10 wood ducks come in to the pond. Wow are they easily spooked though
I have plenty to share. I will get addy in exchange and mail on Monday.

I will be happy to send you a couple of vine seed I have that the hummers/butterflies really like. One is the Cypress Vine, which has small red trumpet shaped flowers that the hummers love, and then the moonflower vine which the hummer moths really love around sunset. And SASE is really not necessary ~ just let me know your current address.

Mail is still pretty messed up down here right now so we haven't put in a change of address yet. To many important insurance papers to be lost in the mail. Been waiting since the 18th of October for insurance check that is MIA. Then they said said they paid off on our loss and mailed that 2 weeks ago. Have gotten nothing

Donna, I have a big DG tradelist, and you are welcome to anything on it. My zoning is quite different than yours, but some seeds will probably work for your off season or as trading material for something you want. Just email me if you would like anything on my list, whether a trade or SASE, any of which you can have just by sending me your address.

Donna, as generous as you were with me when I was new here last winter, you know there's already a BE on my desk with your name on it! :-) I'm putting in a bunch of different things, including any extra seeds that were from you. I harvested lots of 'Flamingo Flower' celosia seed and 'Pink Candles' celosia too... they are drying now, and I will send you plenty!
When do you start seeds in your zone? Do you need there asap, or should I keep adding to your BE until January?
I won't be planting untill March so there is no rush on getting them out to me. You all are to kind. Thank you so much :-)

Well, in that case, Donna, I'm gonna keep adding to it for a bit before I send it. Since I can't trade plants anymore with the weather being so cold, I've tunnel-visioned in on getting more seeds! LOL I had no idea that gardening could be so addictive!
