We were talking on another thread about cat and mouse stories. The past couple of days I notice the cats spending a lot of time in the basement doing things like staring underneath the freezer for long periods. Which I have learned means there is a mouse. A few minutes ago - sitting at the computor - I happened to look down and there was a little grey mouse running underneath the protective plastic pad that sits on top of the carpet . I stomped on him a couple of times and he is still there but very dead. I will remove him later. I hate killing things especially innocent little mice who are just coming in from the cold but then there are things like deermice who carry Hanta virus which is really bad. Not here in the city but there have been reports in the country side. And I equally hate removing them after they are dead!
Ah well it seems to be an annual exercise for me. Go find the mouse traps and the peanut butter.
It's time to set out the mousetraps...............
