Thought I had lost McGillivrayi

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

I missed watering my McGillivrayi and thought I had lost it. The leaves had shriveled and it just didn't look happy. I took some cuttings just in case. I repotted it into Warrior soil-less potting soil, watered and keep spraying with Eleanor's. Well now it has new healthy leaves and is doing great. So don't give up on those hoyas you may have missed watering, there still seems to be hope:-).

Blessings,
Awanda

Oh the plant is pretty. I just hate it when they get all shriveled up. I put my H. bella in a saucer of water like Marcy said to do, and within weeks it was back to normal. I was just gonna pitch it. Yippee another Hoya life saved, good going.

Awanda, is that one big cutting? How long ago did you do this? I'm a bit confused. Make me see the light..

Oh Heather dear, this is the plant I thought I was going to lose. Eleanor's is good, but I don't know if it's that good:-).

We had to order a whole case of the gallon size. 4 to a case. You may want to find someone to go in halfs with you. I figure 2 gallons would get me through a year. But I am using it on my daylilies as well.

Here is Eleanor's website, you might be able to order less than a case from her.

Tami, I'm like you, I use it on all of my plants! And speaking of Eleanor's, I'm just about out and need to pick up some more this weekend:-)

THANK YOU!

Awanda, I couldn't find it any where here. SandyC sent me a couple bottles of it. But had to order it off the website. I guess after the first of the year it might come to true value. When my sister called to order the stuff, she sounded like she wanted a sales person up her for it. Where do you find yours at ?

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Tami I buy mine at Summerwinds Nursery, it comes in a 16oz bottle with an 8 oz bonus bottle attached for about $7.00.

So Awanda, you still use the Eleanor's all winter?
Heather

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Heather I do use Eleanor's all winter, or what little winter we have. I spray it over outside plants too. It's been so warm lately that the datura I cut back for winter, has started growing again. Most of my hoyas grow all winter.

So should I use my eleanor's all winter, or should I cease until around Feb? I still don't get the whole fertilizng schedule thingy. I'm sure if I ask enough, one of these times it will sink in, kind of like rooting hoyas. Or soil mix. That took me several posts, each worded a little differently until I finally feel confident with rooting, and soil mixes. I always was a slower leaner, but look out, once I catch on, there's no turning back.

Heather I don't think it would harm your plants to at least spray mist them with Eleanors:-). If your plants aren't growing, don't fertilize them.

I find it in some places you wouldn't think. Like Ace Hardware and various drug stores. You may want to do some calling around locally before ordering.
I also have still been spraying my plants with it. I have stopped fertilizing them in the watering though. Little cuttings I still use ST on.
Marcy
