I have a computer running on Windows 2000 Professional. Somehow the Windows Installer got corrupted. Now when I try to install anything, of course, it won't install.

I went out to Microsoft sites and downloaded said installer and it doesn't work either. My Installer is set to "AUTOMATIC" in Services on the System Management.

Is Installer a component on 2000? Can it be reinstalled from the 2000 CD?
