Brazillian Red Cloak, megaskepasma. It was a huge bush till Bleu chased a butterfly into it. It's still pretty big, about 6 ft tall and 4 ft wide.
It looks like a pink flame!
Wow if that doesn't catch the eye, your blind as a bat!!
Very pretty!
What kind of leaf does it have?? How big is that flower spike?
I am glad to hear Bleu is finally gainfully employed as a pruner.
Kell, it is hot pink(just your color), the flower is a foot or more long and the leaves are big and sort of leaf shaped, lol(longer than they are wide)
Awesome Susie. Hope mine recovers enough to bloom maybe next summer. Is one of the 30 to 40 plants I was able to find that survived. 300 are MIA lol
Donna, let us know what you lost. You've shared so much with us that we should be able to send you starts in return, so you can have your beautiful gardens back.
for sure Susie I would like somemore seeds of the dbl blue and white clitoria. Any butterfly nectar/host plants and hummer plants. As for losses I saved about 30 plants out of 300+. Most were MIA and of what I was able to find most died. Most of the brugs in the ground died. Monster white and a few pinks are all that survived. Kay is bringing me some she started rooting after thanksgiving when she and Trish come over. Have to learn how to grow in dry sand and rock hard red clay now. 100% turn around from what I was growing in lol. DH is already telling me I am not going to burn the well up watering plants. Does the man know me or what ROFL!!!!
Donna, find a farm and get manure to add to the beds, best thing to improve clay because it brings in the earthworms.
Kay and I have been talking and comparing notes about what we're starting for you. She's much better at rooting cuttings but I'm going to give it a try.
I have rooted pieces of the megaskepasma if you need another.
I have these seeds now to add to the clitoria if you need them:
Asclepias yellow and orange, can't remember the second name.
Pink pavonia
Native TX ruellia
Coral creeper
Dutchman's pipevine gigantea and elegans
I have more seeds too, I'll have to make a list, but those I can remember off the top of my head.
I'll save seeds from other stuff as they ripen and take cuttings of everything, especially the brugs! Bleu broke my Butterfly brug, I should go out and gather up the pieces and root them for you. It rained last night, so they will still be okay.
fabulous Susie. I need everything but the milkweed. I found 3 of them. The syrica, silkygold and red/yellow. It just breaks my heart that I finally had about all the plants I wanted and then lose 85 % of them. Hoping the gingers will come back in spring so I can dig them up and move them here. all but 5 of 30 Tropical Hibiscus are MIA. One of my old neighbors is a very lucky person if they survived
I have a few tropical hibiscus. Havent' gotten into collecting them yet!
I'll get your seeds out to you this week.
PS, don't worry about postage either, this one is on me. Oh yeah, can you email me your new address?
I forgot to add, if you can't find your gingers I can share what I have.

I would be so happy to send you gingers and s tuff from here, Donna!!!
Wait Carol. My blue gingers and came back and the Shell ginger never died back so maybe all the others will come back too. I will let you know if they don't start coming back in spring.
I wonder if I should try to dig them if I am able to check the condition of some of the tubers. They were in salt water and we have only had about 1" of rain since the hurricane so they have not been flushed out
