Trois - great photos of Monarchs and Queens. Have you been able to photograph any Soldiers nectaring from them?

Keep watching...am sure you will find lots of eggs on the undersides of the leaves. The caterpillars are quite voracious. Just remember...you can never have too much milkweed.

I have a variety of butterflies nectaring from my milkweeds - have even seen hummingbirds use it! I've watched sulphurs, fritillaries, crescents and checkerspots use it...aside from the regular butterflies of the danaus family (monarchs, queens and soldiers) and all their caterpillars that follow.

The Monarchs have eaten all the leaves from hundreds of milkweeds 3 times so far this year, and I guess getting ready to do so again.
We have had a lot of the Frits a little earlier, but not many now. They seem to prefer the Pride of Barbados.
Lots of Sulphurs but very difficult to picture, as they spend all their time on top of my A-frame on the Black Eyed Susan Vine. They really go for the yellow flowers.
I am not sure if I know what a soldier is. Must study.
