Taro from Kroger

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

A few weeks ago in Kroger, I noticed a basket of Taro and 2 of them had little eyes on them. Being the curious type, I bought 2 and potted them up.

If I learned correctly from Brian's thread on EE differences, guess they are Colocasia.

Welcome to the world of adventure! LOL After reading posts by Eclipse I did the same thing. You can find all sorts of neat roots to grow in Asian food stores and International type markets. Melanga is also a fun one to grow. It is a Xanthosoma. :)

You can get a lot from asian or india stores. I have found gingers xanthosomas colocasias and amorphophallus at stores before. The Colocasia you have looks just like ones I grew out a few years ago from a asian store. They got about 6ft tall and were nice clumps. They never did flower for me though.
