Alocasia macrorrhiza

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I bought both of these as A mac. One has made multi-plants in one pot, the other is much larger and is forming a trunk. This is the leaf of the larger one

Looks like two different plants to me.
The veination is totally different, also the attachment point.
Second one pups like a Xanth.

The top two pics looks like portdora the bottom ones look like Macs But I would need to see a flower on the mac for a positive ID. Macs should not have any coloration on the stems just solid green. It look as if yours may have some marking???

Thanks Brian, neither of them has ever bloomed.

Well growing them in the ground will get them larger faster and should help it bloom. The thing that puzzles me is your last pic of the stems the plant in the middle second to the far right seems to have colorations on the stems? Do you see them on the plant or is this just something with the photo. If it is I would say take a closer pic of the leaf for me. It could be a few things one would be a possible hybird maybe a form of mac or maybe another species that looks similar like odora or brisbanensis. Do you know were the plant is from? A few pics may help but I will be uncertain for sometime if it does have colorations on the stem.

I took a good look and they look green to me.

Sigh...then keep it if you must Linda....it's horrible here in Florida, terribly invasive, you just can't get rid of it, and nasty thorns....it shows up in places you never thought it could, just from one sprig coming home with a plant....yuck....
