Remembering Ginny - the dog who rescued cats

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

I first saw Ginny on TV a few years ago. I was completely taken with her and her story. Her mission in life was to rescue cats. She was so good at it that the Westchester Cat Show named her the 1998 Cat of the Year. I just saw that she died in August at the age of 17, and is sorely missed by all. She was so highly thought of by the cat community in New York that the Westchester Cat Show will be holding a memorial service for her on November 19 during their annual show in White Plains, NY.

For those of you who've never heard of her, and for those of you who have, she has her own fan club website: http://www.ginnyfanclub.com/index.php Info about the memorial can be found there too. I'm tearing up terribly just writing this. I know we all have to go sometime, and Ginny had a wonderful life and did great things after she got her forever home, but it still hurts. And I didn't even know her!
