Aster Furcatus, aka Heart leafed aster. This Aster grows on my property here in N. Arkansas, a colony of about 30 or so plants. I've taken seeds from them and am wanting to give as many as I can to help the preservation of them for they are dwindling in the wild.
Endangered in IA., IN. and Threatened in IL, Wi. and MI. so you can see why I want to get the seeds out to as many gardeners as I can.
This is a lovely White Aster that would look beautiful in anyones garden and helping future generations in keeping them off the lists of threatened and endangerment.
I like to think of YOU and I as guardians, if nature can't do it on It's own , we can surely help!!
They are known to be in less than 50 locations in the U.S., loses are to urban sprawl and they are not self pollinating (takes two or more ) unlike other Asters, TG their not on the BAD list here in AR. or MO.
Please post here and I'll contact each and every one of you that want the seeds. Thank you

This is a wonderful project. Do you have a link to the plantfiles so I can find out if they are appropriate for my climate?
Great thing to do. May I please have some too?
Oh, I'd like to try some, too. I'll share with my brother who is planting an area of his yard with natives only, and, he's in the process of restoring some old farmland he bought in Iowa to native prairie, he can plant some there, too!!
Deb

Bill,
Both links you have up there look rather like a weed that grows here and there where I DON'T want it on our yard here in Massachusetts! I'd love a white aster, but can you describe what an established 'colony' of these looks like?
xxx Carrie
Bill,
I read up on them in Google and they aren't native to anywhere near me, nor are they really appropriate to my setting. Give my share to Deb's brother. Actually, I have a friend who lives in Indiana - I don't know how much land she has but I'll go ahead and send you a FriendAddresedSE, OK?
xxx Carrie
Bill, I would love to have some of your aster seed. It reminds me of the native Large leaf Aster, Aster macrophyllus, that I have in my garden. Thanks, Legit

I'm so sorry about not getting back with you, I got lost for a while, had a virus and it was letting me see some things and not...it was terriable, think I'm all straightened out now (a few dollars later).
Anyway hope I haven't missed out on these, I'll send my sase Monday :-)
Please forgive,
Lea
