Just wondering if anyone knows if water from a dehumidifier is good to water the houseplants with?? We have two of them running this winter and it would be nice to use the water!
Thanks.

Water from a Dehumidifier???
It's great. Works especially well on plants that prefer a more/slightly acidic soil (most houseplants). Also eliminates the mineral salt build-up associated with ground or surface water from wells or municipal supplies.

Thanks Al!!!

If there is a lot of pollution in your air....it will come out in the water too!!!
No I don't think we have much pollution in our air. We are pretty well right beside the ocean, and no industrial areas close.
Thanks.

... and if its raining cats and dogs, there will be poo in it, too. ;o)
Water from a dehumidifier is one of the purest forms of water you'll find on the planet. The only water you might use that is purer (from a practical perspective) is water distilled in a closed distillation system. Both ground and surface water will always contain more dissolved minerals and/or contaminates.

In the summer, I save the condensate from the air conditioner and use that to water the house plants. Our tap water is hard and alkaline and we don't have any rain in the summer to catch.
Hi tapla,
This is great news! Thank you so much for sharing this info!
I always use the dehumidifier water and my plants don't seem to mind!! I figured it was better than the chlorinated tap water...
