Just out of curiosity, what was the fertilizer you used that killed your rex begonias?

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

I used 'Vigoro' 15-5-10 all purpose which I use as an in between for my brugs (the fertilizer junkies) to save on money. I had never used anything but manure tea on my begonias. It was a very stupid move which cost me dearly. I will never do that again.

Daisy, I'm on my way to Ott's in a few minutes. It's my favorite place to shop! LOL They have beautiful Rex's from $2-6.00. I can pick you up some and we can work something out later. I'll take some pictures while I'm there. It's only a couple minutes to go back if you like any of them. Talk soon

Hi Kim,

Well. I like all of them. Good choice. I still have a little small eyelash one that looks like the one in photo, so I will pass on that one. I've never grown the non stop begonias. Do those go in the ground or pots? I for sure what the Rex's. So tell me how much to send and I'll do it now. Feel free to take as many leaf cuttings of my plants as you want. REALLY!

Thank you so much!!!! I owe you big time.

Daisy, Here's your plants. I will mail them in the morning. I'm not going to be taking any leaves. I have to figure out how to keep the begonias I have alive before I root more! LOL LOL. Also you know they break at the drop of a hat. I will try to pack them as well as I can. I might tape them to the bottom of the box, I haven't decided yet. If there is any particular way you want them wrapped LMK. You should get them Monday.

Hi Kim,

OMG!!!! They are stunning! Thank you so much!

Packing them??? Ummm. You are right begonias are tough. But I find if I fill the box 1/4 full of foam peanuts put the begonias on top of the peanuts then fill the rest of the box with foam peanuts. Lastly I hold the lid closed as I shake to make the peanuts settle then put more peanuts in to fill.....it works great. If you don't have peanuts you can do the same think with shreaded confettii paper. I finally purchased a shreader LOL.

Just do the best you can...what ever breaks off I will root for you! LOL.

Thanks again sweety!

Ok Daisy...don't fuss me out! LOL LOL I saw no other safe way out! These plants are taped to the bottom of the box. So get those tools out to cut and maneuver...he he
