Thanks, I just read about a private individual that will soon be getting some into this country ,
so of course I had to ask here.
This place always amazes me and it does not hurt to ask ;-P
He said it was an Amaryllis relative.
He said also that it is called the ' Giant' Haemanthus humilis humilis ,
having leaves as big as a chair seat.
I got mine this summer. Another name it goes by is Shaving Brush. Of course it hasn't bloomed yet.

Ohhhhhh Lucky you , did you get the 'Giant' one ? (drool) They are pretty rare in this country I am told.
I had to back out on the offer he made to get in on the next bunch he is importing from Africa.
I can't take on another special plant during the winter .
Just too overloaded............ to the point that I tossed a LOT of brugs into the dumpster this year.
I feel relieved already and intend to stay out or the "One more wont hurt" way of thinking (I'm my own worst enemy ).
