Male spraying

Freeport, Bahamas(Zone 10a)

Hello everyone. I am about to become the proud mama of a 10 week old Maine Coon kitten named Kalik. The breeder says she has never had a male cat spray and that she prefers that I wait until at least 8 months to neuter him. I have two female cats at home all spayed and am wondering if 8 months is too old for Kalik. My girls were both done at 6 months. I don't want Kalik to spray and have heard that if you wait too long and he does spray, even if you neuter him he won't stop. Is that true? Any help would be appreciated as this will be the first boy in our house ever. Hubby is thrilled that he will finally have someone to commiserate with. He used to always complain that I was female, his kids are both girls, the cats are all female, so were the fish and hampsters.....at least now he has another guy to pal with.

Here is me with Kalik at 8 weeks, please don't comment on the pic of me, it's pretty bad!
